For my personal passion project I photograph Icelandic horses and Icelandic sheepdogs as I see them and how they inspire me. I want to tell stories about these amazing breed. About there strength, caracter, everything that makes this breed so special. For this personal passion project of mine I photograph Icelandic horses herds in nature. Mares with foals. From the Islands in The North of the Netherlands to Iceland, Danmark, Norway, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Roemenia.
Stories I would be very interested in to photograph. Cool locations nature. Countries where you would not expect them. A birth. The different colors and special markings. Special things you do together.

Icelandic horses in nature, Herds and foals
I love photographing early in the morning when everyone is sleeping watching the sunrise and the day start. Being in middle of nowhere, alone with the horses in nature, hearing the birds, the smell and seeing the dew on the grass. Just watching the horses routine: eating, sleeping, the herd commicating, playing. I am always honoured that they let me be there with them. I hope to show other people how special this amazing breed is with my photographs.
Icelandic Sheepdogs
I photographed a lot of different Icelandic Sheepdogs through the years in The Netherlands. Family of my own dog, Mist, for clients and just because I love the breed. I want to photograph them in other countries as well in the beautiful nature. Especially in Iceland in the country where they belong.
The breed inspired me to start photographing and the Icelandic Sheepdog still inspires me. They always make me excited to photograph. In 1997 I met my first Icelandic Sheepdog.
In 2000 I got my first dog, of course an Icelandic Sheepdog, Gáski.
My personal projects are a way for me to stay inspired because I do petphotography sessions for clients. I also want to create work for myself. Then I can photograph, create something without pressure, just for me.
